The Hexagram from the Yi or Book of Changes for the Fire Horse Year is Da Guo, Number 28 Preponderance of the Great. The image is of the ridge pole (or tai chi) that holds up the house straining under the weight above it. It speaks of great stress coming up over the horizon.
Because we all live in different environments and were born under different Animals of the Zodiac the impact of this will vary. In some cases it may actually be a welcome resurgence of business. It’s an ill wind as they say. Businesses we might categorise as Fire are likely to prosper; Wood not so much.
There are of course ways to exploit the helpful qi (or energy) and mitigate the not-so-helpful. The Chinese Almanac or T’ung Shu shows Snake and Tiger needing to take special care while the Ox is crammed with blessings. I’ll be looking more closely at these possibilities and what to do about them.
Buildings facing South will tend to be challenged; those facing East and South East favoured. And as it’s a year with a 1 at the heart of the annual lo shu (or magic square) it’s time for talking, negotiating and compromise whether on a global or a domestic stage.
Later this month we’ll be outlining the various global challenges that I’ll be talking about on the forecast day. A big market correction looks pretty imminent.
