Earth Dragon lo shu

*I am now listing the Hexagram corresponding to the particular month in question rather than the generic Tidal Gua. Put simply, Sun corresponds specifically to a Fire Rabbit rather than to just any Rabbit.

On May 16th I am giving a free (evening) webinar via the Feng Shui Society on Zoom. If you are curious as to how I arrive at my daily musings, this may be for you. Link Here
On May 19th 4pm GMT I am giving a talk on the cyclical nature of time – how years 60 apart in the Cycle of Stems and Branches so often reflect each other. Again this may offer insight into my various ramblings.  It’s part of the (not free) IFSG Conference which features a number of other speakers worth your attention btw. Link Here.
On September 22nd at 3pm GMT I will be teaching a One-Day Zoom Workshop (not free) on Ze Ri the Chinese Art of Date Selection. You’ll need to brush up your stems and branches but otherwise no prior knowledge of metaphysics or any other mumbo jumbo required.
And meanwhile I teach starter Ba Zi (or Four Pillars) & Classical feng shui live one-to-one  via Zoom – times & dates by arrangement with sheilaashworthfengshui@gmail.com

Not-so-hidden Dragon.
A change is gonna come”. Sam Cooke

Double Dragon: this means twice the turbulence. Even the kua number (at the centre of the magic square) is the same. All this and a solar eclipse. Fasten your seatbelts.
A 3 lo shu month multiplies this further. The Yang Wood 3 Star is a bull in a china shop. None of this is necessarily bad. Things are being shaken around and they will fall where they fall. This may be political (watch the Middle East and the Eastern border of Ukraine especially between the 8th and the 20th); commercial (observe the behaviour of  Private Equity during this period); or domestic (the Dragon represents among other things aspiration, enchantment and the Eldest Son).
So twice the turbulence but also twice the transformation. Technically of course Dragons don’t get on with one another. That means not only that this Dragon Year is fraught for them but when the Dragon month comes along it’s fraught for all of us. The Dragon will disrupt even when he doesn’t mean to. The 10th 15th and 22nd would be the days to watch out for.
And if you have a Dragon in your Four Pillars (that is your ba zi), this may be pretty much in your face. If you were born in a Dragon Year expect the disruption to relate to your own physicality and also the family you were brought up in. A wise man once told me when you’ve handled family you’ve handled everything.
If the Dragon rules the month of your birth, your work environment may be disturbed; methods, assumptions and dogma that have ruled unchallenged for some while may be seriously questioned. Expect exes and siblings to be caught up in this and quite possibly centres of learning.
If you were born on a Dragon day, disruption may be quite personal, especially if there is an Ox elsewhere in your ba zi. Your Day Pillar represents you and your true love.
Birth in a Dragon Hour suggests your very dreams and aspirations are in question. This may involve your children’s immediate future. Which may be the same topic.
The Hexagram of the month (Li: Stepping) may be a call, despite the above, to persist in whatever endeavour you are engaged in; you know whether it’s appropriate. Three steps in – which may number the days or the actions or something else –  you may step on a tiger’s tail which may amount to a wasps’ nest or a sudden surge of support and may test your resolve. Or does it? The Hexagram is about making the right rather than the easy call. You may be on the horns of a dilemma. Essentially if you’re deciding something in order not to feel the way you do – fear, anger, discomfort, whatever – you are probably making a mistake. Brave the feeling, open to it, invite it. Then make your decision. Transformation is a function of truth.
After the thunderstorm there is calm, leaves and branches may have fallen anywhere but nothing happens without purpose.

The Month of the Earth Dragon, Animal by Animal:
These generic forecasts carry different nuance dependent upon whether this Animal rules your Year, Month, Day, Hour or Life House.

Dragon (1952, 64, 76, 88, 2000; births in April* 7-9am & on certain days#) Very challenging, not necessarily in a bad way. Step up. Innovate.

Snake (1941,53, 65, 77, 89; births in May*, 9-11am & on certain days#) When the student is ready, the teacher appears.

Horse (1942, 54, 66, 78, 90; births in June*, around midday & on certain days#) Not the time to jump the gun.

Sheep (1943, 55, 67, 79, 91; births in July*, 1-3pm & on certain days#) Notice any feelings of less than (you are not) or intimidation and rise above.

Monkey (1944, 56, 68, 80, 92; births in August*, 3-5pm & on certain days#) Eloquent, perhaps more than you’d like to be. It works for you.

Rooster (1945, 57, 69, 81, 93; births in September*, 5-7pm & on certain days#) You’re in the driver’s seat. Drive carefully.

Dog (1946, 58, 70, 82, 94; births in October*, 7-9pm & on certain days#) Blocked means inflexible.

Pig (1947, 59, 71, 83, 95; births in November*, 9-11pm & on certain days#) Work still in progress. Attend to fine detail.

Rat (1948, 60, 72, 84, 96; births in December* 11pm-1am & on certain days#). A temptation to blurt. Caution.

Ox (1949, 61, 73, 85, 97; births in January*, 1-3am & on certain days#) Some sort of separation.

Tiger (1950, 62, 74, 86, 98; births in February*, 3-5am & on certain days#) Beware the green-eyed monster, however provoked.

Rabbit (1951, 63, 75, 87, 99; births in March*, 5-7am & on certain days#) Twice as many romantic and money-making opportunities for Rabbit males

* Chinese Months start later than European ones.
#You’ll need help or a Chinese Calendar for this.

A Pretty Good Day
Tuesday 23rd April, Fire Snake, Beak, Remove (6) ***** discretion.
A first class day for certain activities and procedures. On a Removal Day what is removed, replaced or jettisoned tends to stay that way. The Full Moon at 18:58 reinforces that outcome. Perfect for moving out, not much good for moving in.
Activity: SE for appropriate respect.
Favours: Snake, Rooster, Ox, Monkey.   Caution: insecure Pigs.

Not so Great
Friday 26th April, Metal Monkey, Ghost, Stable (9) *** precarious
Technical, practical work is probably the most satisfying today. Introspection may be inevitable but unlikely to be helpful. Respect tradition, notice when instinct works better than deep thought. Travel arrangements may foul up.
Activity: South East for understanding (from Snake & Dragon).

A Pretty Good Location
NW: Authority: Year Star: 4 Month Star: 4 Dragon Virtue (Pig NW3). Sui po (Dog)
The 4 Star is all about originality, research, experiment and invention. Locate here for breakthrough. Don’t face SE but you might face West briefly to energise. Lady Tigers and Rabbits will tend to thrive here especially if you’re looking for something elusive.
To augment: Water in its many forms (e.g talking) – not if you have a 1 Star here.

Not so Great
South, Bright Future: Year Star: 7 Month Star: 7 Annual & Monthly san sha,
The South is delicate all year; two 7s are a pretty poor combination at any time other than during a 7th Fate Period (last one ended 1996). They will fight ie further pointless dispute is indicated, this conflict being about position and recognition. Vanity will tend to be magnified. If you can’t avoid locating here, check your ego as you enter.
Calm it down: Water: a glass jar of fresh Water changed daily. And talk.

Richard has worked from Lebanon to Bermuda, in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore and with stars such as Naomie Harris, Kelly Hoppen and Gillian Anderson. Unusually for a Western Master, he has addressed the Grand Masters at the International Feng Shui Conference in Singapore.

Every month we send (at a modest fee) retainer clients a more comprehensive monthly bulletin than this one, covering in detail right places to be (and when) as well as the most helpful days Animal by Animal and much more from the Chinese calendar.
