The Month of the Fire Dog, Animal by Animal:
These generic forecasts carry different nuances dependent upon whether this Animal rules your Year, Month, Day, Hour or Life House.

Rats (1948, 60, 72, 84, 96; births in December* 11pm-1am & on certain days#). Rat and Dog have little in common. Your powers of persuasion are at an ebb, best to listen, however much you disagree.

Ox (1949, 61, 73, 85, 97; births in January*, 1-3am & on certain days#) Ox and Dog are at odds, both adamant in their different ways. You’re likely to square up to the status quo in October – especially towards the end.

Tiger (1950, 62, 74, 86, 98; births in February*, 3-5am & on certain days#) You bring out the dogmatic in the Dog but mostly you agree. That type of yang machismo however is a double-edged sword.

Rabbit (1951, 63, 75, 87, 99; births in March*, 5-7am & on certain days#) Relief for the Rabbit in a demanding year. Dog is a safe haven but don’t lose track of your own accountability.

Dragon (1952, 64, 76, 88, 2000; births in April* 7-9am & on certain days#) Dog and Dragon are literally diametrically opposed. Agree and keep your counsel or confront 100%.

Snake (1941,53, 65, 77, 89; births in May*, 9-11am & on certain days#) Snake is a mystery to the Dog so expect your judgement to be questioned. Get your attention out.

Horse (1942, 54, 66, 78, 90; births in June*, around midday & on certain days#) Horse & Dog are in league. You’ll tend to get the attention you seek this month. Be careful what you wish for.

Sheep (1943, 55, 67, 79, 91; births in July*, 1-3pm & on certain days#) Sheep meeting Dog signifies break-up. Some sort of separation imminent in a year in which you have hung onto membership by the skin of your teeth.

Monkey (1944, 56, 68, 70, 82; births in August*, 3-5pm & on certain days#) Loss of pace. Turn that into a virtue perhaps by withdrawing from competition. Verbal sparring could end in tears.

Rooster (1945, 57, 69, 81, 93; births in September*, 5-7pm & on certain days#) Allies & rivals may be hard to distinguish. That choice is up to you.

Dog (1946, 58, 70, 84, 96; births in October*, 7-9pm & on certain days#) Home at last. Time for a rest. A long one, especially Fire Dog.

Pig (1947, 59, 71, 83, 95; births in November*, 9-11pm & on certain days#) Delays. Turn patience into production. Art may emerge. * Remember Chinese Months start a little later than European ones. # You’ll need help and/or a Chinese Calendar for this.Anchor

Quiet confrontation (& not-so quiet)
This Fire Dog Month – a few Notes.
This is a month of rigidity; the Dog is yang Earth, immoveable and solid Often within solidity there’s brittleness. Technically the Dog is actually made up of Metal and Earth with a smidgeon of unseasonal and explosive Fire at its heart. This heart which falls between the 17th and the 20th, exposes a fragility; reliability and consistency may mutate into fixed and unwise positions with incendiary outcomes. This may be at any or all levels: international, domestic, commercial and intimate. Best bet is to examine our positions and be flexible where appropriate but broadly inflexible on matters of principle. This is more apposite for Dragons than most.

The Fire Dog is the Year Animal of Donald Trump but also of Bill Clinton and George W, all born in the Fire Dog Year of 1946. In a sense the Fire Dog represents the American hegemony that begins in that year. Watch this space.

This is a 9 Month. The 9 Fire Star is a Star of emphasis and prominence, this year tellingly it actually includes the Chinese Double Ninth Festival on the 25th, a day to drive away the danger of too much Fire. This is a month of high profile activity. Watch your p’s and q’s because many actions unused to light will tend be illuminated. Again this may prove global, personal or other. Or indeed all of the above.

This month’s Hexagram from the Yi or Book of Changes is Mountain over Earth, Bo, Splitting. Bo as one of the twelve Tidal Hexagrams, marks the transit from light to darkness and back again from the Summer Solstice to the Winter Solstice. It is a time to accept the inevitability of dark following light and of course vice-versa. Bo presides over every October.

However the Hexagram relating to this particular October is Gan, Mountain, Number 51 The Immovable: stubborn as hell. You don’t need me to tell you that huge tensions are building on all levels. And they’re unlikely to resolve easily.

Where to be in October.
Summary: power.
South East, Determination: Year Star: 6, Month Star: 8.
The Earth of the 8 boosts the Metal of the 6. A place of power for the Eldest Daughter & the independent woman. Power may depend on men just the same. Draw on curiosity and imagination here especially if you have a Qi Men Dun Jia advantage. Use, activate, keep bright, but the most powerful activation is to occupy in order to further current projects.
Assist: Water: a well-timed fountain (in or out) at 154˚ or 136˚ to invite the prosperous 1:6:8 combination.

Where not to be in October.
Summary: possible sickness.
North, Distant Future: Tai sui or Year Star: 3 Month Star: 5. Monthly san sha Downbeat 5 plus Monthly San Sha makes this a haven of believe it or not, “wind-borne contagious diseases in poorer households”. Not healthy for a while especially on days designated with a 4 kua: the 17th and 26th October and 4th November. Also 19th. Steer clear.
Mitigate: Metal: a 6-pipe Metal windchime or better, t’ang lung*
